About radio
Hospital Radio Ipswich (HRI) is a unique broadcasting service dedicated to the patients at The Ipswich Hospital. The station has been serving its community for over 50 years, providing 24-hour broadcasts every day. The content is created entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers who operate out of a state-of-the-art studio.
Listening to HRI is absolutely free for patients, who can access the service via the Hospedia System (Channel 1) after registering their details. The station also broadcasts online, allowing people outside the hospital to tune in live and listen to its eclectic range of programming.
One of the key features of HRI is its commitment to playing patient requests, a tradition that has been upheld since its inception in the 1970s. The station boasts a music library of over 120,000 tracks, ensuring they can cater to virtually any request.
HRI is not just about music; it also offers news updates, including Sky News on the hour, and has hosted interviews with numerous local and national celebrities and sports people over the years. In addition, the station's presenters have often gone on to professional radio careers, further underscoring the quality of the service it provides.

How is the rating calculated?
The more people listen to the radio station during the last 7 days, the higher it ranks.
Only unique plays are counted; repeatedly reloading the page or pressing “Play” multiple times does not affect the ranking.
