Beat 106 Scotland

About radio

Beat 106 Scotland is a renowned radio station that originally aired on 19 November 1999. It was established by the Big Beat Group, a group of nightclub promoters from Glasgow, and initially intended to serve as a new rock and dance station. After being sold to the Capital Radio Group in July 2000, the station switched towards playing more dance music, later returning to a rock/dance format. However, Beat 106 Scotland ceased operations in 2006 and underwent a series of rebrands and changes in ownership before returning to the airwaves under new Scottish ownership.

Beat 106 Scotland was reborn digitally, continuing its commitment to bringing the best dance anthems all day and the best DJs all night, seven days a week. The station features some of the world's best DJs across 26 shows, with exciting plans to expand the program to support new and emerging talent. The new incarnation of Beat 106 Scotland has been enthusiastically welcomed by both original listeners and the station's next generation of followers.

In its prime, Beat 106 Scotland attracted more than half a million daily listeners, and it promises to continue its commitment to delivering the very best dance anthems all day and the best DJs all night, seven days a week. The radio station, which recently celebrated its third birthday, invites listeners to join its live events and listen to Beat 106 Scotland online, on apps, and on smart speakers.
