About radio
Mearns FM is a community-run radio station based in the North East of Scotland, specifically in Stonehaven. It broadcasts across South Aberdeenshire on frequencies 105.1, 105.7, 106.2, and 107.3 FM, but listeners can also tune in online and via app or smart devices, experiencing the station's live broadcasts from anywhere.
Mearns FM began as Stonehaven Community Radio in 1994, after a group from the Stonehaven Community Centre Management Committee visited North East Community Radio. The group was only allowed to operate for 28 days at a time due to restrictions on community radio stations and eventually disbanded in 1998. However, with the introduction of five-year community radio licenses in 2004, a new group of enthusiasts formed and adopted a constitution in 2005. The station was rebranded as Mearns FM to reflect its coverage of the larger Mearns area. Its broadcast license was issued in July 2007 and it began broadcasting on 6 June 2009.
The station has an eclectic mix of shows, previously including the self-proclaimed "world's only Doric show" and a rebroadcast of Bervie Church's previous Sunday's worship service every Sunday at 9am. Mearns FM plays a wide variety of music from the 60s to the present day, and they encourage listeners to get in touch to request their favorite songs.

How is the rating calculated?
The more people listen to the radio station during the last 7 days, the higher it ranks.
Only unique plays are counted; repeatedly reloading the page or pressing “Play” multiple times does not affect the ranking.
