Originally founded as Sure Radio in 1995, Forge Radio has grown to become a treasured source of entertainment and information for its audience, broadcasting live during term time​.

With a rich history dating back to 1995, Forge Radio has been a platform for students to express themselves and engage with their peers and the broader Sheffield community. Since its inception, the station has made significant strides, including winning the Student Radio Station of the Year award in 2000 and achieving numerous nominations and accolades at the Student Radio Awards and the National Union of Students Awards​​.
