Radio Dawn

Radio Dawn is a unique and vibrant station based in Nottingham, UK. Broadcasting since 4th April 2006, the station aims to 'Touch Hearts & Minds' as its mission statement, providing a positive and forward-thinking platform for the betterment of the local community. The radio station operates predominantly through the dedicated efforts of experienced volunteers serving the community of Nottingham. Broadcasting live from 8am-8pm Monday through Sunday, Radio Dawn provides a variety of programs designed to educate and entertain listeners of all ages from all backgrounds​.

Radio Dawn is committed to spreading the message of peace and building trust within the Muslim community and beyond. The station has made significant strides in building bridges with the wider community, creating strong partnerships between community members, youth, families, and governmental organizations. It has been promoting recent research that evaluated a 'Trust Building' initiative, a novel and proactive intervention that aims to improve and build trust between Muslims and the wider community​.

The station currently manages a maximum of 50 volunteer presenters who speak different languages ranging from English, Arabic, Yoruba, Urdu, Punjabi, Mirpuri, and Pushto. Radio Dawn values its staff and volunteers and offers extensive training, particularly to presenters, enabling them to be responsible and effective in their roles​​.
