Academy FM 105.9 FM is the community radio station for the Folkestone area and an educational charity. The station is based in the Folkestone Academy school and provides training and experience for people of all ages from all over Folkestone. You can listen to the station live online or tune in to 105.9 FM if you are in Folkestone.

The station focuses on educational and community work, promoting local events and supporting local businesses. Academy FM has won several awards for its broadcasting and educational work, including School Radio Station of the Year and BBC Sounds Rising Talent Awards at the Young Audio Awards, as well as national Community Radio Awards in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Academy FM's charitable educational work is mainly with young people. They are trained in radio production and along the way learn self-confidence and communication skills. The station also runs projects on literacy, science, the arts, heritage, and many more subjects.
