Pride Radio 89.2FM is a British radio station based in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the North East of England. It is the region\'s only dedicated radio station for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT+) community. However, it is not exclusive to the LGBT+ community, as the station aims to bring communities together by promoting equality, diversity, and inclusivity. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day across Newcastle, Gateshead, South East Northumberland, Sunderland North, South Tyneside, and North Tyneside, reaching more than 700,000 people living within the transmission area. It can also be listened to live and online worldwide, broadening its reach beyond the North East of England. Pride Radio has recruited some of the region’s leading presenters, including TV’s Peter Darrant and Mel Crawford, Alex Roland and Stu Smith formerly of Metro Radio, and Century Radio favorite Jonathan Morrell. As part of its mission, the station also plans to nurture and encourage new talent, aiming to train new presenters from the LGBT+ community and beyond.
