The station is run entirely by a group of dedicated volunteers who strive to promote the local area and the events happening that the listeners may not be aware of, as well as advocating for good health and well-being across the regions they cover. Launched on February 7, 1977, Bay Trust Radio was formerly known as Kendal Hospital Radio and is a member of the Hospital Broadcasting Association. The station\'s editorial area covers Westmorland General, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Blackpool Victoria Hospitals.
