BBC Arabic
About radio
BBC Arabic is an integral part of the BBC's World Service, providing news and information in the Arabic language. It was launched in 1938 and is one of the oldest and longest-running foreign-language news services by the BBC. Originally, it started as a 65-minute broadcast, but it gradually expanded to include programs and hourly news bulletins 24/7. However, as part of a cost-cutting plan, the radio service ceased broadcast on Friday, 27 January 2023, but an online service remains to serve its audience.
