About radio
Fresh West Midlands is a lively, community-oriented radio station that broadcasts live from studios in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, online and on the Small Scale Birmingham Multiplex. Established in March 2018, the station originally opened under the name Hit1FM in 2013 as a hobby radio station, designed to target ages 16–24 living and working in the area.
Today, Fresh West Midlands maintains a strong presence at local events, linking local residents to their community and offering a range of daily programming that includes a breakfast show, generally automated programming throughout the day, and presenter-led shows in the evening spanning a variety of genres. The station has evolved from its modest beginnings in a bedroom to purpose-built studios, serving a population of up to 900,000 people in the local area.
